Rural Sunshade

Year: 2021 | Location: El Salitre, Coahuila, Mexico | Typology: Pavilion, Public Building | Team: Daniela Martínez Chapa, Rodrigo Gastélum Garza, Lidea, MWorks and Gavisa

This sunshade provides comfort for the kindergarten children in El Salitre, Coahuila, Mexico. Its raised triangular geometry allows the wind to pass to mitigate the heat of the desertic climate, simultaneously becoming a local landmark for the playground and the street front.

The Rural Sunshade consists of two simple foundations that support a light steel structure, to which recycled white plastic sheets are anchored, making the space below cooler.
