Huasteca Hub

Year: 2019 | Location: La Huasteca, NL, Mexico | Typology: Environmental Conservation Center, public building | Team: Rodrigo Gastélum Garza and Daniela Martínez Chapa

Located on the limestone slopes of the Huasteca Canyon, there is a complex whose purpose is to admire and enjoy this amazing natural environment. The shape it takes is the product of a design strategy of: subdivision of activities to contain natural voids, lag in heights to achieve better views of the mountain and have a continuity of routes that blur the interior from the exterior.

All buildings are suspended on a slender steel structure to avoid damaging the ground; It was possible not to remove any trees, a factor that also contributed to the layout of the complex. It is pertinent to mention that in its program it integrates awareness as a means for natural preservation, since "you cannot preserve what is not known."
